Project duration: Since May 2022 

The Project 

With the introduction of SAP Payment Centralization, alseda Consulting has delivered a major milestone in the overall transformation of a regional bank in Central Germany. We have built a long-standing and trusted partnership with this bank and have already supported numerous strategic initiatives over the years. 

For the first time, the solution was implemented as an internal posting hub to gradually replace an existing posting tool while at the same time modernizing and standardizing the connection to the new SAP systems for account and loan management. 

This implementation marks the first step in the gradual decommissioning of the existing host platform with its historically evolved architecture — a strategically important move for the future system landscape of the client. 

In addition to pure posting processing and routing, alseda Consulting successfully delivered several core functionalities: 

  • Account Locator Service – a central account directory including the leading account management system and account status 
  • Stock Register – reservation and management of account numbers for the respective target systems 
  • Reconciliation Logic – automated reconciliation between postings sent from source systems and postings received by target systems 

The Biggest Challenge 

The complexity of the project lay primarily in fully identifying, analyzing, and precisely mapping all existing posting processes into SAP Payment Centralization. 

The deep integration of the posting hub into both the current and future process landscape required an exceptionally high level of: 

  • analytical understanding 
  • technical expertise 
  • cross-team coordination 
  • clear communication 
  • solution-oriented execution 

This combination is one of our greatest strengths — and it played a key role in the success of the project. 

Our Implementation Approach 

To deliver the solution, alseda Consulting deployed an experienced team of consultants and developers with deep expertise not only in SAP Payment Centralization, but also in related SAP applications such as Business Partner, Transactional Banking, and Loan Management. This broad competence greatly facilitated coordination with the other SAP teams and enabled smooth integration. 

Thanks to our strong technical understanding, we were also able to quickly familiarize ourselves with the host processes and posting data. This was a crucial factor in ensuring a tailored integration and reliable processing. 

The Result 

In November 2024, we successfully went live with SAP Payment Centralization as the first of the new SAP systems to enter production — an important milestone for the regional bank and a clear reflection of the quality of our work. Since then, additional interim releases have also been successfully deployed. 

The implementation of the remaining processes and functionalities is already well underway. We look forward to making these available soon and continuing to drive the transformation forward together.
